Hello, if a power supply of 1600 watts has a US type power cord, can the initial cord be replaced with a UK one since it would not go to the ups.

Thanks in advance!

What model PSU is it? Did you buy it in the UK and it came with a US plug or did you buy it somewhere else?

You can replace the power cord that goes from the PSU to the wall outlet with one that has a UK plug on it.

Welcome to the forum!

If you have a PSU with a US cable, but need a UK cable it would be as simple as getting a C13 (kettle lead) cable and plugging it into your wall socket/UPS.

I should mention though, do double check if the PSU supports 120-240v input and not just 120v. To be honest, any decent PSU should support the full range; especially a 1600W unit, but it doesn't hurt to know for sure.

For a 1600w power supply it should be a C19 connector. A more heavy duty plug that is commonly used in the really high wattage power supplies.

Power supplies are full range or 240v only. Not 120v only.

It's usually the other way around.

230V only PSUs are more common because they're cheaper to make (higher voltage = lower current).  A 120V only PSU doesn't make sense.

Hello and ty all for the replies!

Here is the link regarding the psu https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08H8SV7G9/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8

Below are two screenshots of the ups which is part of my setup and the power cord which would hook up the psu and the ups

Sheeeeeesh.

That's a C13 plug. Which is a huge red flag as the C13 plug and the power cord are only rated for a maximum of 10A. The PSU claims to support 110V but to output 1600W you would be drawing around 16A from the wall, 160% what the power cord & connector are rated for. Yikes!

If that doesn't sound alarms the fake "90+ Gold" logo sure does.

I sincerely hope you didn't pay the $250 + $50 shipping + Import taxes for that. If you're still in Amazon's return window you should send it back.

I canceled the item, lucky me I was still in amazons return window. Thank you 🙏 !

Ah so you had only ordered it? That's lucky, you won't be out of pocket of import fees.

Need help picking a different PSU? I'm guessing you're mining? What hardware are you using?

If you're looking at 1600W PSUs then stuff like the EVTA T2/P2, Corsair AX1600i, Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 12... If you don't need 1500W+ then it opens up a lot more options.
