Help Please - Best option for gaming laptop UK £1000

BD94

Hi all,

Needing a new laptop and struggling to work out my best option for £1000.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08BWWG5F4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_48V8TB42WS04DHJM8C3F?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

This is the best option I feel I could find for the price. Any ideas for alternatives are welcome.

Thanks guys!

I bought  asus tuf  as your link, but keep in mind you have to upgrade the ram to 16 and get some ssd

(Only one ram slot is upgradable /and there's  only one SSD slot to upgrade the storage)

Yeah struggling to find a better option for the price really and obviously in a couple months can save to upgrade RAM and SSD. How have you found it to run? Roughly how is it performing with any games you play?

Don't get an 8th gen Intel chip in 2021, do not get 9th gen either, only go as low as 10th gen, and even then AMD is the better choice for a gaming laptop. I'm not sure that laptop would exist anyway, as I've only ever seen Clevo laptops use desktop K chips in a laptop.

Desktop - i5-9600KF @4.8GHz all core, MSI Z390-A PRO, 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance 3000MHz, MSI GTX 1660S OC 6GB, WD Blue 500GB M.2 SSD, Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM HDD

Laptop - ASUS ZenBook 14 with ScreenPad, i7-1165G7, Xe iGPU 96EU, 16GB Octa-Channel 4200MHz, MX450 2GB, 512GB SSD with 32GB Optane

Old Laptop 1 - HP Pavilion 15, A10-9600P, R5 iGPU, 8GB, R8 M445DX, 2TB HDD

Old Laptop 2 - HP Pavilion 15 TouchSmart, i3-3217U, Intel HD 4000, 4GB, 1TB HDD

iPad 2018 - 128GB

iPhone XR - 128GB

That laptop does look good, especially for the RTX 3000 GPU, but the CPU is only 4 cores, and for gaming you ideally want at least 6. Look around for an AMD alternative that may be cheaper for 6 or even 8 cores. Furthermore, the RAM will need upgrading from 8GB to 16GB.

Before  adding  a ram the usage will be always 80%  and more wich is bad,i recommend  you to upgrade  to 16gb as soon  as you can to see some good improvements

Personally  I added

8Gb DDR4 PC4-25600 3200MHz 260-pin SODIMM  it cost you around 50£(if you are aiming  to play warzone you need to get the 16GB)

Don't hesitate if you need any further information 😉
