Cpu temps started going crazy on idle

Soo it was just normal day playing minecraft. temps were normal too but after 2hours pc started making weird noise and cpu temps were up to 87°c (normally about 60°c when playing minecraft). So i restarted my pc and my idle temps was 60°c (normally 30-40°c on idle) wtf happened? I applied new thermal paste didint help at all 🙂 what should i try. im now trying to troubleshoot it. Hope me luck and if u can help me eny way thx.

 

Newest windows version. 

Cpu: i5-9600k

Gpu: gtx 1660ti

Ram 16gb dual slot

Psu: 550w corsair

Ssd: 250gb

Hdd: 500gb

- Check fan speed.
- Check your heatsink mounting pressure (simplest way is to lay the case down, push the heatsink down with your hand and see if temps improve drastically).
- Check CPU voltage (VRMs could be out of whack, supplying too much, or it could be bad bios settings...).
- Temp sensor you are looking at could be defective, check other sensors.
