Which cpu cooler to buy?

MechWill

I am choosing either a noctua nh-d15 or a corsair h150i elite capellix. I am planning to run an i7 11700F with an rtx 3080. Will there be any leak issues with the corsair one? which one has more cooling performance, and which one is more reliable (in terms of lifespan)

Thanks

Very unlikely.

At loads lower than something like 150W, the performance would be more or less identical. The only difference is the time it takes to reach steady state (or where the cooler can't heat up anymore since it cools at the same rate as it heats up). For instance, in gaming, they will perform pretty much the same.

The air cooler is more reliable. The only thing that can go wrong is the fans, which you can always swap out. If the pump on the AIO goes, there's nothing you can do except buy a different cooler unless it was in warranty.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

In terms of lifespan air coolers will always last longer since the only part that can really go bad are the fans and the Noctua ones can be changed

Big nerd.

Got it. I checked the noctua website and it said that it fits.
