Computer crashing a lot

murph0981

So I have had my computer now for around 2 years. It was a Pre-Built from Cyberpower and I have been upgrading it ever since. I replaced the original 1060 3gb with a 1660TI, changed out the 16 gb of ram for 64 gb set to 2666mhz (which is the max speed my I7 can handle) and recently replaced the god awful stock Intel cooler with a Cooler Master Hyper 212.

Over a year ago a regular issue would occur; my computer would shut off entirely on it’s own. I asked about it here before and someone said it could be thermals so I got the cooler. However today it shut off again. I’m about 70% sure it’s a power supply issue but the built my case so stupid I can’t access it, making cleaning a bitch. However for the 30% unknowing: What could be the issue?

TLDR: Computer shuts off on it’s own, but why?

PSU sounds reasonable. The computer just going black and turning off is pretty much always a CPU issue, and it's going to happen generally because of either overcurrent or undercurrent. The CPU is trying to save itself. If you have any overclocking, I would remove that, but otherwise, yeah, you're probably going to need a new PSU.
