I bought this for my set up, was so excited! Got my case all cleaned (and did more cleaning after this photo) bought some Arctic MX-4 feelin gre- put the cooler in upside down....

After the photo I did a better job cleaning. Didn’t hurt leaving it upside down, kinda adds character.

What power supply do you have?

I haven't seen a decent modern one with ketchup-and-mustard cables in awhile.

Not gonna lie I have been upgrading a pre built from Cyber Power. I’m not 100% sure on the power.

It looks like the cables of a 80+ smart unit.

But I may be wrong.

When I built this PC for my mom I had to use cable extensions to get the 24 pin and eps to fit under the cooler, otherwise the stock Corsair cables were too huge

which means up top is a lot of extra length which keeps falling down, but in order to get up there I have to take the entire thing apart again

which is a very specific step by step that takes a solid hour due to the compactness 

that was my biggest screw up with this thing, if I had just used Corsair compatible soft cables from the start this wouldn’t be an issue I’d have to look at every time I visit my parents

My biggest pc building fail is mounting my cooler on top of cpu only to realize I never peeled off the wrapper on the cooler. I had to redo the mount and applied a new thermal paste.

In future these personal updates are better suited as posts on your profile, but seeing as how there are a few people replying and some discussion taking place it can stay open.

 

It doesn't matter which way the logo is facing, but if the cooler logo being upside down bothers you unscrew it and flip it around. You won't need to reapply the thermal paste if you're just remounting it.

At least it's a pretty easy fix. Plenty of people have finished building a PC only to find the I/O shield floating in the motherboard box and had to disassemble half the system to install it

Was the fan pre-installed or not? The 212 I've installed had pre-installed fan. Which would then mean that you had some effort to make this upside-down as the fan is blowing to correct direction.

The fan was clipped to the heat sink so I removed that before installing. I wasn’t paying attention until I went to put the fan back on.

I believe it adds character to it. It wouldn’t be anything I built if something was either attached in a ghetto way that works or upside down.
