I am searching for new microphone for gaming and streaming. I come across at some options here.

Hyperx Quadcast S = $160, it has pop filter and shock mount included.

Or

Elgato Wave 3 = $172,no pop filter and shock mount included and cost $36 and $49 respectively. A Software that is very good by reviewers said.

That cost will be $97 apart from each other. These prices are converted from Malaysia. Which one should I get?

I'll second the recommendation to buy something from someone who makes microphones, and preferably not a USB microphone.

A Shure SM57 is about $100. Get a windscreen for it. You can get a decent audio interface for about $75 - $100. M-Audio and Behringer both make usable interfaces for about $60.

That's my recommendation. I've never been impressed by the cheaper Audio Technica LDCs. I still find the SM57 to be one of the best things in its price class when it comes to speech. I prefer an SM57 with a windscreen over an SM58 for this application. Furthermore, SM57s have been around for 40 years. I've used them extensively and I have a lot of trust in their reliability and consistency.

The best thing for streaming, IMO, is a DPA 4066. They sound great and will give you a very good signal to noise ratio, but they're seriously expensive. Again, that's another microphone that I've used a

@MrMcMuffinJr @H713 @The Flying Sloth Can we just narrow down into Elgato Wave 3 and HyperX Quadcast S. You guys looks like didn't really answer my question.

This guy makes really honest reviews of microphones. I've never used either but Id trust this guys opinion on them he reviews every microphone going its all he does on his channel. So give the two videos a watch see what he says and make a call for your self off that.

TLDR he prefers the Elgato.

The SM58 is a SM57 with built-in windscreen.

The omnidirectional capsule makes this thing pretty bad for sitting in front of a computer hammering on the keys. And it needs a fitting power supply and preamp driving the cost up even more.

@iCoNrant

Take the Elgato. It has a 24 bit DAC and looks more decent. You probably don't need the pop filter and the shock mount and you can buy them later.

I find the windscreens for SM57s to be a little more effective than the one built into the SM58.

As for the 4066, it's an omni capsule, but it's also an inch from your mouth. In practice, it works pretty well for dealing with room reflections and background noise because of this. It's an issue of signal-to-noise ratio.

Absolutely agree, I don't keep a stock of 58s on hand because 57s (and their equivalents) are often more versatile due to their smaller size. Don't discount the tonal differences that can be made by a headbasket either, mics like the Oktava MK219 are totally different mics depending on whether you modify the headbasket or not. Whether or not the 56/58 had the same difference, I don't know, but I do know I would much rather record a room full of 57s.

I found a fully package the Audio-Technica ATR2500X-USB included pop filter, boom arm, a mount, tripod stand, USB c to USB c, USB c to USB a, protective pouch and shock mount all of that for $120. Is this a good deal?
