Power supply recomendations

Faris14

So I wanna buy a pc and want to choose a power supply, I do not know much about them and need some recomendations, currently I am look at a coolermaster mwe white v2 or a corsair cv550. Are these any good and if not can you guys tell me which to buy, if they are around the same price as these. The corsair is 550W bronze and the CM is 600W standard.

S12III better than MWE V2? I don't think do. Maybe equal but not better.

What cpu and gpu are in the system?

Post a link to the shop where you usually buy your stuff.

Typically aim for a gold standard basis for a power supply due to its higher efficiency and find them to be more reliable overall however Quality control issues exist with every single brand and every single level of efficiency. I know i didn't word this properly the first time but this is simply being changed for clarity reasoning that people didn't understand what i had meant. You are more likely to get a better PSU if you go with a higher efficiency one but that is not a guarantee I've never had good experiences with bronze PSU's that is simply why i don't rec them.

S12III yes, S12II no.

I would look into one of these Segotep units, they have a cost cutting option where it’s the same as their other power supplies but non modular for 15$ less than the regular version. It’s otherwise a decent 80+ gold 600w psu, but it’s non modular.

https://www.amazon.com/Segotep-Gaming-Supply-Certified-Non-Modular/dp/B0832KN3RV/
Losing the modularity does make it cheaper but you will need to be able to manage those cables well.

It’s a pretty good choice for a quality psu on a budget.

Aim for a gold psu as minimal and seasonic is one of the best brands no doubt but i do not use bronze PSU's anymore as a gold standard is much better to align with and platinum for the best. You've not specified a budget or the build of the actual computer however giving really nothing to work with.

Keep in mind, the 80+ rating (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Plat, Titanium) does not refer to the quality of the PSU but only the efficiency. There are some really crap Gold PSU's.

I would just use the PSU you got if its working no real need to upgrade it unless you plan to change your parts. I don't see why it wouldn't be plenty of power.

80+ Gold does not equal quality. Just means it has good efficiency. Seasonic makes bad 80+ Gold Units. So does just about everyone

3060 will use roughly the same power if not slightly a tad more so maybe you'd need 600w max for that build but 550 still might work fine.

I am aware however I've recently had er horrible experiences with bronze based power supplies personally and so i rather just use a more efficient PSU in general. Corsair always did me alright and er EVGA not so much and then seasonic seems to be the best I've had out of like 6 brands I've tried.

So I should go for a corsair or seasonic one? Oh just to say those psu-s I listed are selling for like close to 80 usd when I do the conversion from my currency.

You could get a 600w EVGA bronze/gold PSU if you like. Honestly is plenty of choices but if you got a 90$ PSU budget you could be able to squeeze a lil more out of it if you can find something on amazon depending on where you can buy stuff at.

Sadly almost nothing on amazon delivers to my country and the things that do have like over 100 usd shipping and fees. So I am kinda stripped of choices.

Oh that sucks it really comes down to just a brand then and honestly you can't really make too much of a wrong choice here cause all brands have the same issues and its usually quality control and it can happen to any unit really. So really you should just make a decision based upon what you would like to try at this point.

There are like 3 options right now: corsair cv550 550W bronze, seasonic s12 III 550w, and a corsair mwe white v2 600W. All of them around the same price(80 usd with conversion 😞 ]

Honestly upon evaluation they are all good choices for the budget. I would simply choose the corsair MWE white v2 due to its added wattage and the potential for your upgrade later if you do get the 3060. You can't really go wrong with any of them

I think those replies have the relevant info.

90 USD, that should be about 150 KM, if I understood correctly? Within that budget, you have the CX550 for 135 KM. It's a decent budget PSU, and should be fine with a 3060.

https://www.olx.ba/artikal/34712744/corsair-cx550-550-w-80-bronze/

Another option would be the Sama Armor 550W or 750W for 160 KM. A bit over your budget, but it's fully modular, and has a longer hold up time, if those things matter to you.

Jfc. If you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, please have the decency not keep spewing random BS. The 80+ rating says nothing about how good a PSU is. Several others have already told you this. E.g. the EVGA G1 NEX is an 80+ Gold rated PSU that's worse than several of EVGA's own, lower end, 80+ Bronze rated PSUs. The brand also doesn't matter. If anything, Seasonic as an OEM would be worse than other, larger OEMs. Unless you like crappy fans, lack of protections and possibly worse QA.

Jfc you don't read what i wrote and my reasoning I am well aware of what others have said but i also don't see them here anymore trying to help the OP make a decision on their power supply. I am well aware that the rating really doesn't matter i just always had bad issues with bronze PSU's so i simply always used gold+ of course bronze PSU's can be good just none of the ones i have owned.

Those are both sold out and the ones that are nogt do not have the prices updated everything is like 30 KM more then the listing I was asking around a lot and these are pretty much the only ones that still fit in to my budget that I have right now and have a reputable seller.
