Need info on RPi 4 B and f@h!

Hi everyone, i'm planning to buy a raspberry pi 4 B model for pi-hole and something else network-wise, could it be possible to use it to fold at the same time? And if someone knows, what is the expected ppd on a device like that? Thanks in advance!

No folding on Pi yet, but there are some BOINC projects.

Theoretically it is possible to get the program working on the pi, but the folding at home project relies on the extremely powerful desktop CPU and GPU processors to get it's work done. And those processors are leagues more powerful than the stuff in the rpi4. maybe in the future where they get desktop grade graphics cards working on the pi it would be a feasible idea, but for now it's not worth the e-waste.

CPU: Intel core i7-8086K Case: CORSAIR Crystal 570X RGB CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H150i PRO RGB Storage: Samsung 980 Pro - 2TB NVMe SSD PSU: EVGA 1000 GQ, 80+ GOLD 1000W, Semi Modular GPU: MSI Radeon RX 580 GAMING X 8G RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 64GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4 3200mhz Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E Gaming

Thanks for the answers!

I was reading on the folding forum and there are some people already using it (there is a f@h release for ARM cpus), for the electricity part it's not really a problem, they consume very little power (around 5-10 W), even if it only gets 5k ppd it's still worth imo, as i will keep it on 24/7 anyway.

So again, does someone knows roughly the ppd of this device?

That's probably a better question for the folding forum where you found that info. They're probably running early test versions of an ARM core that's only discussed there.
