Premiere Pro vs. Power Director.

Man

Currently using AVS Video Editor but it feels a little unpolished, lacks quite a bit of "pro" features and the UI looks kinda dorky. Don't get me wrong, it's perfectly adequate for minor video editing (vlogs etc.) but I'm thinking about venturing into professional video editing with multiple video layers, graphics etc. I've Googled quite a bit and narrowed down my options to Adobe Premiere Pro and Cyberlink Power Director.

Premiere Pro is what everyone's using apparently (including film industries, I've been told) but my major concern is that its UI feels extremely complex and I'm a complete newbie when it comes to Adobe Suite. Seems to have a really steep learning curve.

Power Director seems far more accessible, as it has a lot in common with AVS but I'm a bit concerned about its future as it's apparently quite a niche product and not many production companies appear to be using it which could become a problem in case I decide to go down that route in the future.

I suppose it all boils down to this: Should I follow the herd or the heart?!

Thanks.

Well, funny thing, I myself think that premiere is pretty much intuitive after you spend some time on it (as every adobe product). Maybe you'll need to search some on google but it isn't going to be hard to find answers.
I would tottaly recomend you to use adobe premiere because it is flexible and has all that compatibility shit with the adobe cloud, that is wonderful! (It can help you and others when working on larger or specific projects)

Im teaching myself Premiere Pro as I type.

I am a complete newb.

It is difficult to understand

Until you DuckDuckGo how to do something.  Then its trial and error

Honestly I have more issues understanding how to get the best quality video compressed to take up the least amount of space, than navigating Premiere Pro.

Right now though all Im doing is b-roll editing (I have a week or so on this software) and its easy for that.  The cool stuff you can do I havent tought myself yet, so it could be quite more complex than I am saying - sans just looking up your question on the internet...someones asked it, and someones replied.
