Two stupid simple questions on GFX card rankings

Radium_Angel

I'm out of the loop at what's good, what's not so good, and so forth.

For starters, a website called Techpowerup.com has GFX card rankings in relation to each other, are they (more or less) accurate?

Assuming they are, it answers my 2nd question, but if they are not, is an AMD RX 550 (4GB version) worth 170$?

I'm not a gamer much (Minecraft original Doom 2016, and Armoured Warfare is about as hardcore as it gets), Looking at some options in this scarcity market.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Do you have a link to the ranking?

The RX 550 (4GB) is not worth $170 I think. It was only worth like that when it was new in 2017.

Instead for just over $100 I suggest you search for a RX 470 4GB or RX 570 4GB, which should be much more powerful. They're even better than the RX 460/560 as well, the RX 550 is comparable to some integrated graphics, just the VRAM on it is more.

The ranking has this as a caption: "Based on TPU review data: "Performance Summary" at 1920x1080, 4K for 2080 Ti and faster."

So yes, they are ranked based on benchmark performance in games. Not sure how they calculate the ranking for server GPUs but those tend to be similar to desktop counterparts in wddm mode.

For $170 I'd try and shoot for a GTX 970. Unlikely you'll get anything better but that is leagues ahead of a 550

Daily Driver: Asus ROG Flow X13 - 5900HS/3050 Ti

Primary Desktop: NCase M1 - 5800X3D/RX 6950XT

Travel PC: Fractal Terra - 5800X/RTX 3060 Ti

I have too many computers. List here.
