Seems mostly good. A 3600mhz kit would be a bit better. Here is an rgb one: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1548861-REG/crucial_bl2k8g36c16u4bl_ballistix_rgb_16gb_8x2_3600.html
Liquid cooling not really needed, but people have preferences. CPU is perfect for gaming and single-threaded, which I assume is the main use case of this pc. Don't really know much about the motherboard, so won't comment much on that.

You'd be very lucky to find the CPU and GPU for a reasonable price that isnt being scapled. Could go for a higher speed memory though and it would increase your CPU performance.

The CPU is constantly in stock for $300 now. Just an fyi

Ok, so the CPU is in stock so in that regard am not concerned. As far as coolers go I prefer the AIO although I was led to believe the Ryzens run hot. So no big deal there.

Ill up the DDR4 mem, just wanted to get everything from one place (being lazy really)

The machine will be solely gaming.

Thanks Downkey ill have a look at that now. Must add am in the UK.

Looking in the short future to use VR but not sure what to do there. May be a future thread on that lol.

The temps of Ryzen might be higher than Intel at times, but it's not that much of a difference. You're totally fine using the boxed cooler or Wraith Prism cooler, as long as you don't overclock.

I think with the GPU you have, you're already settled for the future for VR. Also the CPU is good for it.

I did think I would be ok in regards to VR but just wanted to double check.

I'll stick with a box fan cooler them and save some pennies there

I think you're fine with the stock cooler. You can always upgrade to an AIO later when you feel like it. The only thing is that the stock cooler can get a bit loud at times, it's your preference if this is disturbing for you or not. Personally I think it's not that loud on my Ryzen 3400G.

If you want a cheap good aftermarket cooler something like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 will do okay.

That BeQuiet cooler is a good rated one, but I can't tell from experience on Ryzen 5000 series yet. You'd have to look it up.

I'm sure there must be RAM out there that's higher than 3200mhz. Have you looked at Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro yet? A bit expensive though.

The motherboard is a good choice. For the ram, someone else said 3600 is better, but it's just a small difference from 3200mhz. I would say get the fastest ram possible, but only if the price difference is not big.

I think the Be Quiet you chose is nice and good, but too expensive. Originally you wanted the MSI AIO. It's only a bit more expensive. How much does it cost there in GBP?
Either go directly for it or just leave it out first and use the stock cooler if you don't overclock.

For RAM my other suggestions are:

https://www.box.co.uk/CMW16GX4M2C3200C16-Corsair-Vengeance-RGB-PRO-16GB-(2x8GB)-3_2361204.html

or

Edit: Actually the one you found is the best for the price already and 3600mhz.

So the 3600MHz RAM is around £10 more expensive so seems worth it for the little extra. And as you say it seems the best for the price. I don't care for RGB and all that lol.

Great on the MOBO as I really like that one.

The MSI mag AIO cooler is £90.92 and the BeQuiet dark rock 4 is £57.36.

So it would seem the I have what I need.

  • Ryzen 5 5600x
  • MSI MPH B550
  • Crucial balistix 3600MHz ram

just need to decide on cooler now, but it would seem that price is the cheapest i will get.

Heads up though, i'll need software help next lol, as I want to use my excising SSD for my OS.

In that case 3600mhz is worth it for just 10 GBP extra.

It's funny that you say you don't care for RGB, even though you chose a RGB AIO and RGB RAM.  In general RGB parts are usually more expensive than normal, but in this case I think the RAM is not.

If you look for non-RGB RAM, check out: Corsair Vengeance LPX, HyperX Fury Black, G.Skill Ripjaws V and G.Skill Aegis (last one is the cheapest usually).

The price difference for the coolers is much more there it seems. It's up to you whether you want to spend on an air cooler first and upgrade later or just keep it like that. AIO is nice to have and quiet, but it's not much more cooler than air cooling.

By software you mean you need a legit copy of Windows 10?

cheapest cooler you can get is the one that comes free with the cpu. It's a decent cooler, like I wouldn't get a hyper 212 to replace it, if you want to go for a non stock cooler, you should go realtively higher end, or just stay with stock.
