Ok so I have seen a few videos about how rtx 4000 will apparently "crush" the 3090 and all the 30 series cards.

Is this real, and if it is, would it really be that powerful

And, would nvidias stock just go boom when people try to order them like they did the 30 series.

Don’t take everything I say seriously

take it with a grain of s a l t

There is no RTX 4000 series cards released yet, or any plans to release them. Anyone who claims to have information about them at this stage is bullshitting.

I mean, don't they say that about every predecessor? Phones, consoles etc. Ever time something new is announced or whatever people claim it will be soooooo much better than the previous version.

I mean yeah it should be better unless they're aiming it for a specific audience. Otherwise why would you keep releasing new stuff every year if it's the same as last years stuff?

Based on their launch cadence, I would expect the 40-series cards to come out towards the end of 2022. So it's much too early to speculate about anything. Some kind of performance increase is a safe bet, but anything else, who knows.

Gotta love naming schemes. They appear to be out of stock currently.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

RTX 4000 cards already exist, they are just midrange Quadro cards which are expensive and for workstations mostly.

Nvidia has to come up with a new name, they might just go RTX 5000 series, even though they don't like to match AMD's naming scheme.

Of course the RTX series after 3000 cards will be better than 4000. I just don't expect to crush 3000 series, that will happen again for the cards that come after the next generation. Then Nvidia has a reason to say this once again: "It's safe to upgrade now" (they said that in the first RTX 3000 announcement show).
