If you know all of the answers right away, you are basically garanteed a card, and If you don't but know 1/3 or 1/2 of the answers, you still have a good chance at it.  
You are still a "gamer" even if you don't know all of the answers right away, so I fail to see what's the issue?

I had nearly selected "fancy marketing", but I was at 2 incorrect, so I decided to *Mouse wheel click* DX11 vs DX12 :

On 15 questions, I'd say I was 100% sure of around 7, then there are 3 I had a hunch (including the 2 I failed on 1st try) and 5 I searched before I don't play the game.

Arriving early was the key for me.

To be fair you don't have to know every single one. You can skip some, make mistakes and I still manage to get through. I did the entire quiz, got it right the 3rd time

and still managed to get a slot. Was not planning on spending that much, but my GTX 960 begs me for retirement some time now.

 

I was really surprised I got through though.

Also, the answers didn't seem to switch places. It was always the same letter for each question.

Link is dead after the cards are gone. It just displays that the event is over. I don't know if it is possible to play the quiz.

It would be a nice idea for ltt to continue doing it even without the prize. The thrill of the hunt alone is good enough.

there is a sticked post at the top where they explain the VAG. In short you watch the video as soon as the publish it and if you are lucky you get the chance to get a gpu at msrp

 

 

 

 

Btw I really like the suggestion of previous post, where you can select what kind of game are you. I know it is more work for the team but it would be nice to have a pool of question from different type (i.e RTS, Moba, FPS, strategic etc)

actually they might create a video out of the questions with answers after VAG is done, use twice the time employees alread spend on it.

We don't know. But the one I answered wasn't asking about EVGA cards, but reference cards. And reference cards only come from Nvidia or another retailer.

dunno, I failed twice (the first 2 drops I was interested in) and it was fine People should just understand that the chance is quite low and not rely too much on this.

 

And as I said before, this idea about waking up every 30 min sounds bad. Better to just wake up for an hour (6 PM UTC +- 30 min is their usual time), I think it's either this time or something like +8 hours like with AMD CPU. Or setup some kind of alarm for YT + FP notifications (the only problem is that on FP you can't choose just LTT without other LMG channels). Or inform a gamer friend in another timezone about VAG and ask to wake you up too.

 

Also it's unlikely that it will be on weekends when no one from LMG is at work, so just Monday-Thursday.

I actually thought the DirectX12/Vulkan question was one of the easiest ones. The SoulCalibour and Resident Evil questions I hadn't the remotest idea about.

I'm pretty sure we could make a poll requesting the questions be released after the VAG has concluded.  Maybe LTT could even make some kind of board game with them.

When the video uploaded, I was downstairs eating dinner with my family. As soon as I got the notification for the video I ran upstairs to my laptop and downloaded the video's cc and watched double speed. Ran a quick search on the cc and immediately found the drop (and left the video without even watching it). Hopped over to their store, wrote 6800tuf, and then began the quiz. I knew maybe 2 out of 15, so I quickly wrote in notepad the answers and blitzed through it (I think overall I did it like 10 times). I was in que for 230 out of 300. For about 20 minutes I clicked the anti afk button, while my heart was racing. When the que was 5, there were already over 2500 people in the que. Managed to buy one, shipping cost me 70 dollars, and I assume VAT will cost me additional 100-200 dollars (if customs catch it, which they might not). Still, shops in my country sell the 6700xt for over 1500$, and the 3080 goes for over 2000$, so this is a great price for me.

 

So to answer your question, yeah, people outside of US and Canada can buy these.

I'd like to thank Linus for getting me out of this situation: the 5am video alerts, the 3am discord amazon notifications, the mid-day Youtube alerts from fixit's channel, the awful shuffle system, etc. This is exacly the card I wanted and I couldn't be happier it cost me less than what I sold my 5700xt for (I sold it for 1200$ with some Roccat headphones I never used. Yes, that is the real price I sold it for, the gpu situation is much worse in my country).

So let me get this straight. Every time a new video comes out you download the closed captions script specifically searching for when the url key is "announced" and then you just take the quiz over and over until you get to the end through trial and error? Am I the only one who thinks this goes against the spirit of it? Shouldn't there be an IP blocker to prevent this kind of gaming of the systems? 

I and many others spent a good chunk of time googling, watching youtube videos and asking in twitch channels for the answers to questions about games that we weren't familiar with. Doing it that way you actually get to learn cool facts about games that you didn't know before. But just brute forcing your way through the multiple choice by retaking the quiz 10 times seems like something that shouldn't be allowed.
