Speakers Only playing out one side

I have the Logitech z333 speakers and they are only playing out of the left side. The levels are balanced in settings though. When i plug them in to the front jack it works perfectly fine. When I plug it in the back, the problem occurs. Any help?

Bad connection to the back plug?  Not fully seated?  I've had old gear do that and sometimes by jiggling it or twisting it just right I get it work correctly.

 

Also possible you have it plugged into the wrong plug in the back, but I'm assuming you've checked that.

That might be a TRRS connection then. TRS is stereo, TRRS is stereo+mic, and while they're they same length, the placement of the connector to avoid shorting the mic would be different.
