Running one GPU for gaming and one GPU for mining simultaneously?

I couldn't find much discussion about this anywhere and I'm trying to find if its possible to have two different Nvidia GPU's to be in a computer with one that runs for gaming and one that runs for mining. I currently have a GTX 1070 Founder's Edition as my main gpu and I'm snagging a 3080 whenever I get the chance to. I was just wondering if I could farm with one of them while I play some PC games or edit on the other video card?

Yep. You may need a dongle on the 1070 to trick it in to thinking it's hooked up to a display (these can be had very cheap), but basically you just point the mining software to one GPU and tell it to leave the other alone.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

This is not correct.  A dongle is not needed.  You can point the mining software to any installed card.

I said *may be needed* as I have had issues with it in the past and have found other examples of the same issue. Not specifically with mining, mind you (with other GPU compute workloads), but nowhere did I affirm OP *will* need a dongle.

Tell the miner to only use the one card. Done. Very easy. Even easier to do other nicehash.
