Routers with cable antenna and frequency

ElijahAnti

Have a Skyworth router. It's connected via coaxial, thinking it can be replaced by regular ones and connect via coaxial adapter if it is possible to replace. Its connected to an antenna like television and not physically lined to the server.

My other thought is getting different brand if 'em but there might be security problems and such.

Its hard to say if you can just replace this with your own router instead because while there are cable modems/routers available many ISP´s block devices that are not their own.

You would need to ask your provider if they allow private modems and what you need to look for when you wanna get one.

Most of the time you have to use modem from the ISP.

If you want better wifi connectivity, just add another router acting as a slave / access point mode.

Why do you wish to do this? Was the current unit provided by the ISP?

Have a Skyworth router.

Who is your ISP? Have you tried contacting them about compatible replacement models?

What you have there looks like a cable internet gateway (combo modem, router, access point).

If this unit is provided by your ISP and directly interfaces with the WAN uplink, you need to get in contact with your ISP to find out if it can be replaced and which device(s) they approve as replacement.
