Case fan not working when plugged into the motherboard

iSUMMERx

Hi all,

I recently just built a new rig (I'm new, decided to try building cause it looks fun). However, after watching countless tutorials and videos I still have no idea why my pc will not start when my case fan is connected to the MOBO. The pc does however run when the chassis fan is not connected to the MOBO but the PSU. I have no idea where it went wrong, am I supposed to only connect the 3 pin head of the fan to the 4pin on the MOBO or am I supposed to do both(connect to both the PSU(using molex male to female cable) and the MOBO)? Please help I have no idea how to rectify this as it is definitely not healthy for my PC.

I have the following components for my build:

Asus TUF Gaming A520M(MOBO)

Tecware Nexus M (Case)

AMD Ryzen 3600 (CPU)

FSP HyperK 600W (PSU)

WD Nvme M.2 SSD 500GB

Zotac RTX 2060 (GPU)

Spextrix D50 DDR4 2666MHz 2x8GB (RAM)

Only plug the 3 pin to the fan header. Don't plug the molex in. You shouldn't connect both.
