Remote Desktop

Go to solution Solved by ProjectBox153,

You've got it backwards. You cannot connect to Windows 10 Home (or any Home version of Windows) through RDP, but you can use Windows 10 Home to connect to RDP servers, such as a Windows 10 Pro machine. You'll need to find an alternative solution, such as TeamViewer.

You can connect using a Home version, what you can't do is connect to a home version as the RDP server feature is only on Pro and Enterprise versions of Windows 10/8/7. The RDP Client is available on all versions.

Can you get into a computer running Windows 10/8/7 HOME through a computer with win10 pro? IK that you can't connect to other computers with a home version of windows but can a computer with a home version be connected to?

If you want to use Windows Remote Desktop, the computer you are remoting into had to be W10 Pro I though, but I could be wrong.

There are of course always alternatives you can use, including Chrome Remote Desktop and Team Viewer which will work on Windows 10 Home too.

You'll have to go with an alternative to RDP. Options such as PARSEC, AnyDesk, Teamviewer, & VNC Connect+TightVNC exist.

I use this daily. You can use a home to connect to pro or greater but not the other way around.
