980 ti or 1070 ti?

BigRecoiilz

me and my dad been looking for quite some time for a fair graphics card and we came across the 980 ti and the 1070 ti. Both are on par with each other but do they both support my 1080p 165hz monitor?

depends on what connector you're using and which model of 980 TI vs 1070 TI you're considering

also the 1070 ti is a little faster, since the 1070 is roughly on par with the 980 ti

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

a dual fan over a blower for your average gaming computer is pretty much always your best bet

I’d get the new card based off the vram. Though I’d prefer an fe 10 series card over any noisy fan version.

Id get it for all the new features.. and vram. My 980 is ok for 1080p, as it runs quite a bit quicker than the plain jane one. The extra eye candy would be nice..

1070 ti will have better driver support for longer, and is faster(not a ton, but a fair bit), and has more vram. if the 980 ti is significantly cheaper maybe it would be worth it, but if they aren't too far in price get the 1070 ti. plus the 1070 ti is newer so it likely has less wear.

Very well overclocked 980ti is basically equal to a 1070ti stock. The 1070ti also has Freesync support, which makes a big difference. It also uses dramatically less power.

I have a 980ti I bought used for a great price. I love it, but I would swap for a 1070ti if I had the chance. Atm with the market it's quite difficult to do though.

That's an F in the profile pic
