You have to ask a mod.

Nah, you're not blind. Only moderators and admins could delete threads

Easiest way is to just report your thread and ask us to remove it.

One of the more important reasons you can't do it yourself is that

in case something bad happens (say, personal dispute), we can't

have the evidence disappear. Another reason is that some people

want their threads removed after their question has been answered

(yeah, we've gotten quite a few of those requests).

Since one of the major points of having an online forum is to

exchange knowledge, it kind of goes against the spirit of the

whole undertaking to remove answered questions, since at some

point somebody else who has the same problem might come across

the thread and find it useful.

So, if you have a legitimate reason to have a thread removed

(double post, thread gone to shit, w/e), you can report it and

we'll do so, but we're not just going to delete it if we think

it might still be useful to others in the future.

Thanks. That was a very detailed and thoughtful answer. In this case there is no dispute to be settled and I'm undecided if I want to delete it or not. If I do decide that's the route I wanna take I'll send the report.
