Best planar under $250

I am currently looking at a mr speaker mad dog for 150, m1060, he560, the normal foster tx0rp line, and the he 5xx

250 what? It may be stretching the budget a little, but I am super pleased with my Hifiman Sundara (€300 over here). They're also open, which may not be what you are looking for. I'm far from a headphone expert, so I can't really comment on the rest.

I feel like the 5xx would be more comfortable and is only ten dollars more so I am not thinking about the 400i

Imo the best planar's you can get is the he400i 2020 and maybe the 5xx. The m560 need some modding to be decent. The 1060 have a lot of QC issues especially with how the mids sound. Mad dog is pretty cool.

Demonic blue is pretty great if your looking for a bassy fun sound. Kinda unrefined but really nice for EDM and hip hop

Have you tried the t20rp t40rp or t50rp cause I’m thinking of getting those but I can’t find any new reviews

the t50rp kinda sucks IMO not modded very heavy and uncomfortable. the t20rp on the other hand is quite nice stock/ the fostex t20rp and t5-rp are just generally not headphones I reccomend for people looking for planars as they are not the most planar sounding planar headphones out there if you want the full planar experience. if theere was s psectru, that had planar sound and dynamic driver sound on each sides they would both fall somewhere in the middle

ahrd to describe you kinda have to experience it..cause the drivers themselves are different they give you a very different very fast kind of sound that;s often just described as planar sound

Do you know if it is easy to mod the fostex to basically switch a 20 to 40 or 50

I dont think so as I velieve those are just straight up different drivers that all sound different maybe with the exception of the t50 rp andf t60 rp as the t60rp is almost a mod of the t50rp

No they are all in he same headphone with different levels of venting 20 open 40 closed 50 uses a thick mesh
