what? You can wait a week or just get any gpu for now. tho Nvidia gpu is recommended so there will be less hassle with the drivers.

so you bought a 3070, and it's not going to arrive for 7 days.

And you're wondering if you can buy a 50$ gpu at your local hardware store and use it in your computer whilst waiting for the 3070?

yes, you can do that, but you will have to install the drivers for the 50$ gpu and then ddu them when your 3070 arrives as it doesn't use the same drivers.

if you have gone 2 months without a proper gaming computer i'm sure you can wait the extra 7 days though.

That won't damage your pc, I would just wait till I get the card, but you can buy that card, and it should work, before installing the 3070, you should DDU your system, it basically uninstalls any graphics drivers. There should be guides how to use it, but from what I understand, you would need to go into windows safe mode, then launch the app and uninstall the drivers.

after the 3070 arrives, use display driver uninstaller to completely remove any driver you install for the cheap card before putting in the 3070 and installing its drivers
