I have an Asus Rampage VI Extreme motherboard and 2 Titan Xp in HB-SLI. HB-SLI supports only dual GPU and I hear 3-way SLI is even more headache than 2-way. Can I add a 3rd Titan Xp without breaking the SLI on the first two?

I understand the 3rd GPU won’t bring any additional performance to most applications. I want it for mostly visuals and a little bit of extra performance in Davinci Resolve (which doesn’t use SLI). I guess I could remove the HB-SLI bridge but I play a few games that use SLI.

If you want better performance you should sell the titan XPs and buy a single RTX8000 or A6000

To be honest, it doesn't make sense to add in a 3rd GPU if you're already running SLI. If you don't know what to do with the 3rd GPU then i'd just sell it. Loads of people are in need of HW, especially GPU's. If you put up a good deal on it you'll sell it in about 2 days.

The 3rd GPU will add about as much as the second one does in theory in compute and video editing software, rendering software etc. Actual gains may vary, it might add an extra 50% of GPU power to it, or might do 10% extra, I'm not familiar with the software so can't say. Games won't care, but you can set the 3rd GPU to be a PhysX compute GPU for dat swag.

Yours faithfully

Yea it can be done. Ran 3 Titans on one of my rigs with 2 in sli. Zero issues. As that is the intended purpose.
