i wanted to ask can i use a hdmi for a 1440p 144hz monitor and a display port for a 1080p 60hz monitor from a rtx3070 or should i use both display ports so they match and i herd its bad to use the mother board for a 2nd monitor they should both be ran off the gpu is this true? for example id b gaming on my main display and have a word document or something opened in my 2nd display.

You can just use both from the GPU the 3070 can more than handle it. Either way it will work.

I have 1080p 144hz front and centre then my 1080p60hz on the right side and angled.

 

Main monitor is for gaming, 2nd monitor for monitoring whatever I need to monitor or for maps, guides etc

 

Both run off my RX580 no issues.

i5 8600 - RX 6600 - Fractal Nano S - 1080p 144Hz
