I've seen a fair amount of people over the year that always are like "Vsync' date=' let's leave that turned off". I, for one, have always left it on (or enabled it when it was disabled) because I don't see the point in rendering more frames then my monitor can handle. I honestly can't think of a single reason to disable it (especially with Nvidia's Adaptive Vsync). I was just wondering, do you guys turn Vsync on or off, and for what reason?[/quote']

Maybe some people like my self who like their games to be completely smooth, 60fps with vysnc on it my case is seriously low for almost any game, i hate frame stutters and fps drops so i always turn it off, i never get tearing nor have i ever had it on any game on any pc ive ever played on, the only way I would ever use vsync is if i had a 120hz monitor but not forking out like £400 for one so it stays off for the near future

No vsync is always off. 120Hz monitor and more fps the better for me.

You know, if your monitor is 120hz your Vsync framerate will be 120....

Anyway, ever since adaptive Vsync, it's been a non-issue for me. No reason to not use it at all.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

I'm not using vsync in most of my games because so the fps in special situations go down from 110 to 100 instead of 60 to 50. In League of Legends i set my Framerate to "high" what means about 120-125 fps. Doesn't load my gpu too much and i don't notice framedrops in big fights. In BF3 my fps are around 45 anyway so vsync wouldn't do a thing for me. It's under 60 fps yeah, but i want to go all ultra just for happyness. :D

Always Off, and Off in the game. Never found the reason to use it. The moment its on, i can feel the difference like day and night. Not in a positive way either.

The mouse movement in FPS feels laggy/delayed.

FPS if it can't keep up can got from 60, 30, fluctuate a lot.

Just no...

Always on. I hate the screen tearing D:. Why would I need more than 60 fps if my monitor is able to show only 60 fps, right? Although many people I know always turn it off, even tho they use a 60Hz monitor. More fps = better, even if they can't see more than 60 fps, I guess... I've already given up arguing with them...

I always leave vsync off. When i turn it on i can notice very slight input lag, wich annoys me.

It all comes down to preference. But I for one HAVE to have vsync. I posit a similar argument about rendering frames that aren't going to be seen when the subject comes up. I cannot stand to see even the slightest bit of tearing. There are only a handful of circumstances where I would turn it off for twitchiness sake...Arenas in WoW, my limited CS:S play, and toying with it in Tribes: Ascend. I will even force it on in games like The Witcher that you need to do it through driver. I tend to then tweak settings just to where it will stay right on 60fps, then knock a thing or two down just to ensure it.

I leave it off in all of my shooter games. Somehow it doesn't feel so responsive with vsync. Might be some inputlag thing.

I keep it on now, games seems a lot smoother to me, especially Battlefield 3. And no point of stressing my computer for no reason.

I always have it off as well, you can end up dropping down to a low FPS if you have it on, on harder places in games

And aslo, I have a 120Hz monitor so I need constant 120FPS + before I would use VSYNC (Which is never gonna happen )

Sometimes I just have to turn it on, the amount of screen tearing I can get when the game goes into cut scenes, omg, kill me now.
