As everyone else has mentioned, the flexibility to use the Quest 2 both with and without a PC makes it a great choice. The only disadvantage I will note is that the Quest 2's tracking seems to suffer somewhat when used in PCVR mode. Games are still perfectly playable, but the tracking isn't quite as good as what you'd get from a dedicated PCVR headset. The Quest 2 tracking works great in standalone mode. It just seems to lose some of its performance in Oculus Link since it has to communicate everything through a single USB C cable.

I mostly speak from my own past experience from similar problems. My solution may not work for you, but I'll always try my best to help as much as I can. If you want me to see your reply, make sure to quote my comment or mention me @WaggishOhio383, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

I had a Rift CV1 for a few years and just got a Quest 2 a few weeks ago. Thankfully the Quest 2 is very modular, so you can tune its comfort to your tastes. The included straps are sufficient and the speaker bar is a great idea to keep the bulk and contact friction low. However, coming from a Rift CV1, I immediately went for the Elite straps. I don't care for the foam padding on the Quest 2, but I didn't like the padding on the CV1 either, so I just purchased some cloth facial cushions from VRCover. To date I've used the Rift DK2, Rift CV1, and the Quest 2. I'd say the Quest 2 is just a hair heavier than the Rift CV1, but their comfort level is comparable across the board with the edge going to the Quest 2.

I like the quest 2 for its portability and ease of use.  There is a headband upgrade available if you find the original uncomfortable.

All headsets will have fitment issues if you have an oddly shaped face and they all will fog up if you're breathing up into them.

The q2 doesn't fog up for us and it is easily used buy my wife and younger son.  The ipd settings are easy to change.

I originally wanted the rift s over the Q1 but the q2 steps it up with the link capability.

Quest 2 can also be used with PC wirelessly, which is just awesome and actually works better than wired with Link.
