I have a spare mechanical 3TB SATA Hard Drive. Can it be used an an external drive?

I have a spare 3TB Seagate Barracuda HDD 7200RPM SATA powered drive that was in my old rig and no space internally for another drive.

 

Can I get some sort of adapters or anything to use it as an external drive?

Yup,

 

If you need something fancy then a single drive nas enclosure is what to get. Alternatively, you can get usb enclosures.

You'll need onw with external power for an HDD, just a heads up.

Some only have USB power and will work for a SSD, but you need more power to spin the HDD.
