11700k benchmark leaks!

so a few minutes ago i was browsing passmark and i found this:

Screenshot_20210124_164142.thumb.png.9ab5b594e5f7d9323e5547582b4de4e9.png

link is here :https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-11700K+%40+3.60GHz&id=3896

as you can see its a 11700k has a 3.6 ghz base and 5 ghz boost with 8c 16t and a TDP of 125w  which is kind of high for a 8c 16t cpu

and its has the best single threaded performance of all chips (even zen 3) look here : https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html

so what are your thoughts

if it was useful give it a like :) btw if your into linux pay a visit here

Does not seem that good IMO.

only little better than 5800x on single core. probably will be more expensive chip. if it is cheaper than 5800x sure, but it probably will not be. I am kinda dissapointed with this intel generation.

+ it seems that 5800x has little better multicore.

so this is probably going to be the situation between 3700x vs  9700k.

well imo no

9700k does not do hyper threading

these two bad boys are way more toe to toe

well yes. mayby more like 3700x vs 9900k back in the days.

You could get 3700x 25% cheaper and 5% worse gaming performance with the same workload performance. Of courxse we will have to see if b560 boards and 11400/11600k are decent.

i feel like 11400/16600k will be only good value intel chips in the 11th gen.

11900k will be priced the same as 5900x, with 4 less cores and 8 less threads.

11700k seems like direct competitor to 5800x.

Also AMD has the platform value right now. cheap b450/b550 with stock or cheap aftermarket cooler will do. At intel (right now) b460 boards are pretty bad deal and their stock cooler suck.

We will have to see if Intel platform is also cheaper or as expensive as AMD's

At least it shows it being 16t. I was wondering how they were going to differentiate their i7 and i9 CPUs if both are 8 core. If the only difference is clock speed, that makes the i7 much more interesting. Nice to have something interesting in CPUs again since the disappointment of Zen 3 due to pricing so far.

so this is probably going to be the situation between 3700x vs  9700k.

It seems odd that the max clock is only 5ghz as this is most likely a 14nm part again. So might be a misreport with that. Either way it's probably going to just end up being the same push it even harder strategy of the past 5 years. That the 5800x wins in multi threaded pretty much shows that it's not as efficient of a cpu and that they probably just went and put most of their eggs in the see our single core is a little better basket. Which we'll see how well that translates to everything. Especially since it seems all core load is worse than amd so I'm wondering how the 2,3,4,... core and so on scaling.

That and the single core performance is like only 0.6% better than the 5800x.

It looks marginally better than the 10th gen Core processors but I personally think Rocket Lake is DOA as 10th gen has the multi-core performance but 11th gen has the single-core performance due in part to less cores/threads as Intel backported Rocket Lake from 10nm to 14nm.

I'm more excited/worried to see Alder Lake's performance leaks and see how this new hybrid chip architecture design will perform and Intel claims they are finally bringing 10nm out in 2H 2021.

well yes this the reason im going amd for my next build BUT intel has a history for having better supply of components so it will be intersetting

True

AMD has poor availibility right now.

Not only that but Intel produces their own chips for right now...

Intel has the manufacturing capability to produce more processors while AMD is at the mercy of TSMC and their contractual agreements for production.

For now they do have the advantage of in house manufacturing thus being able to make more but if people want em enough they too will simply be gone. Motherboards haven't really been an issue for a while now tho?

mobos are region dependent here they are expensive

well they still have higher manufacturing capacity so they will have the upper hand

if it was useful give it a like :) btw if your into linux pay a visit here
