New build need help ASAP

So, I plan on going to my local Micro Center tomorrow, in Columbus Ohio incase anyone wants to lookup what they have in stock. I am going to be building a new PC, I currently have a FX-8350 with a 1080TI. I planed on upgrading to a Ryzen 3950x and just using my 1080 till I can get a 3080 sometime in the future. Now I just noticed that AMD dropped their 5950 and it really bummed me out because I really want to finnaly get away from my god awful 8350. I am tempted to just get the 3950 and forget about the 5000 series since they are not in stock anywhere and im very eger to get a new pc tomorrow. However when I have started to look up benchmarks I see that the Intel i9 10900k outperfomrms this in most cases, expecally gaming. What I like to do on my pv is stream on twitch and also make youtube videos. I guess all I am looking for is opinions on what you guys think I should do. Should I just wait till the 5950 is in stock, should I get the 3950, or should I get the 10900k or some other pc that you guys recommend? I appricate any and all answers!

If I were you, I would go for a 5900x or 5950x or if you want a cheaper option a 5800x both CRUSH the 10900k

If all you do is game, stream twitch, and make youtube videos, and you cannot wait for a 5000 series, a 10700k or 3700x would both be fine.

Won't really be any better for the most part especially with a 1080ti or even with a 3080 at 1440p+

Same goes for 3800x/3900x.

Hell even my 8700k manages to keep it gpu bound most of the time

would it be better for future proofing tho with the 10900? I just messed up big time years ago when I got the 8350 and don't want to make the same mistake

I mean, you're buying older tech as it is - but imo, no, you won't be future proofing yourself any more by going from 10700k 8/16 to 10900k 10/20 (or 12/24 in the case of the 3900x vs 3700x) on the same architectures.

Unless by future proofing you mean you might in the future do different things with your cpu that needs more cores than you need today (as what you're doing doesn't really benefit in a meaningful way with >8 )

so do you think my best bet would be to be patient and just get the ryzen 5900 when its back in stock?
