LED Strip Melting

I am rebuilding my pc and wanted to reuse the led lighting from the old build. while handling the strip I felt these dimples. The dimples appear anywhere the is an LED. Some had a crusty layer around the edges of the dimples. Seems to me like they LEDs are melting the casing. I don't remember the brand and they are powered via Sata. I had two strips daisy chained together, both strips have the same melting effect.

I do not remember if this is how they were when new. (though I doubt it) Anybody notice this on their LED strips?

Anyone out there with LED strips, it wouldn't hurt to give them a quick inspection every now and then!

That definitely looks like it’s melting the resin around the leds

Yes this can happen.  Ive read up that some companies use the lowest quality stuff and it melts.  Others dont

hmm...i will have an psu only for my rgb dose this count?
