Running Steam on another Hard Driver

Hey guys, I'm trying to run steam on my ''school laptop'' which I don't have admin rights to. So I thought just plug in my other hard drive and run it from there right? It doesn't work, for some reason I need admin rights to run steam on this laptop through another hard drive. Is this normal or am I stuck? Any help will be needed.

That's normal. You could connect 400 drivers and the Admin still won't let you run the program.

I could suggest some things but i'm pretty sure that if your admin discover it you're fucked.

Signatures are stupid.

you should be able to boot from a usb drive but usb is vvvvvveeeerrrrrryyyy slow and gaming or any intensive tasks wont be possible. they can also turn that of in the bios.

does that laptop has e-sata?

It might be because it is trying to install a service (maybe Steam Client Service) and it requires admin rights to do that.
