Opinions about "upgrading" to the Samsung s21

Hi folks!

Currently I am using the Oneplus 7t pro. And I am considering the s21 because the oneplus is really too big and heavy.

But then as you know there are downgrades that I have to make, such as charging speed, screen resolution, RAM, etc.

I also can get a student discount with 10% off. And maybe sell the oneplus.

Should I buy the s21? or maybe wait for the oneplus 9?

You're unlikely to notice the screen resolution or RAM.

I wouldn't count on a future OnePlus phone dropping in size. If anything it'll be larger.

Do you find it too tall, or too wide? If too wide, check out Sony phones. They're much slimmer.

It'd help if you listed what you actually want in a phone.

Yeah, the 7t pro is basically too wide. Ok I will check the sony phones.

I also realized that I drop the phone more frequently because its size.

I haven't really got any specific thing that I want, I bought the oneplus without trying it before, I came from a s9 so it was really big compared to that. I want just a balanced "compact" flagship phone, with all specs decent enough.

Any reason to not just go back to the s9? That phone is still really good to this day.

The battery was really bad. And also can't go back to 60Hz.

But I am also worried about the s21 battery life. Even though it has a similar battery size compared to my oneplus.

Check out the Sony 5 ii. It's probably the best "compact" phone you're going to find. The Pixel 5 is smaller, but doesn't have battery life that's as good, and the screen refresh is lower. Unfortunately I think you're in a very small niche that loves smaller phones, and it's a niche that isn't very widely catered to.

I'm with you on high refresh. I got my S20 FE, and I'm never going back to 60hz.

When compared to your 7T Pro, the S21 isn't going to get as-good battery life.

As you can see, the only one that really does better than what you have right now is the Sony.

I'd recommend the Pixel 5 if you can catch a deal; just don't pay MSRP for it. But I nabbed mine for $499 and it's been a champ. I can go almost two days with light to moderate use. Even under heavy use I couldn't kill it in a day. Or get the 4a 5G and get most of what the 5 has to offer for less. And the audio experience isn't as bad as Youtubers make it out to be.
