Yes, massive bottleneck. That GPU is not capable of any serious gaming so you should look for atleast 1050 ti or 1060 6gb as 9100f is capable of handling both and even more beefy gpus

you dont even know if hes gaming? or what hes doing with it, he might be doing intensive cpu tasks that require little to no vram to run

Any particular reason why these components in specific? Is the GT 1030 the GDDR5 or the DDR4 variant? Be careful with that one since the DDR4 variant is an extremely underpowered piece of hardware.

All that aside the i3 9100F will allow the GT 1030 to meet it's full potential in gaming and be okayish for 1080p, still not a very good combo though when there should be better video cards for similar price, second hand if anything.

The 1030 isn't a real Gaming GPU it's basically what you stick in a pc with no inbuilt Graphics. I guess it will be fine to run some games at like 720p from 4+ years ago but any more and FPS will be dreadful.

A 1030 is supposedly much slower than my card (haven't tested it.) I have a GTX 680. I cannot even achieve 240 fps I get only a measly 170. Dont expect 144 fps from a 1030. However, I suspect it might not be my card's fault, could be some obscure Windows feature causing lag for no good reason.

The GTX 680 is closer to a 1050 Ti if I'm not mistaken

It is ok but would not be great for much gaming. what I recommend is a r3 3200g with vega 8 graphics.
