Download Speeds

objkoozie

Hello, I am having issues understanding why my download speeds are so slow? I have Gigabit internet connection, and even though I am on WiFi, I still use internet speed tests and am getting 700+ down. However, when downloading something (was download Ubuntu iso) Firefox reported a download speed of 10mbps. I'm not sure what is causing this issue, can anyone help?

Which site and mirror?
And is this consistent across all side?
If not, then the mirror you selected was likely only capable of 10 Mbps.

700 down on a 1g connection is normal, you're not always going to get 1000Mbps, just like how on a 100Mbps plan you might only get 70Mbps, as for the slow download speed it's likely to with the download server being under load.
