iPhone 12 mini display is so terrible compared to previous Apple products.

I noticed the iPhone 12 mini display looks off the moment I had it last year. So I got an express replacement and to my surprise there's no difference. I went Walmart and at maximum brightness can't notice too much difference between all iPhone 12 models. I contacted Apple multiple times and "the only suggestion we have for you is to wait software update" I was told this from November last year until this very moment. Okay so I bought a colorimeter to measure the white. Remember the perfect white should be R:G:B=50:50:50.

(Yes I bought the colorimeter because I'm mad, mad at Apple)

So here's my perfect iPhone XS display, an OLED at minimum brightness.

And here's terrible 12 mini one

Here's iPad Pro 2018, an IPS

I also have measurements at maximum brightness in the attachments too, if you wondering what's the maximum brightness of those devices.

edit:they can't see it so here we goes

iPad Pro maximum brightness

Stop false claim I'm nitpicking at minimum brightness which nobody uses. 1. I don't believe I'm the only one in the world that uses minimum brightness in the dark in bed 2. it's simply false to claim I can only see the difference at minimum brightness I never said that. It's a constant green cast across all brightness range.

So I moved the pictures in the middle.

See how both Xs/ iPad (OLED/IPS) have almost perfect white while the 12 mini's green just stretched out too much? ANNNNND, I don't believe it's a single 12 mini

Here's two 12 mini, the middle one is Xs, picture taken on the iPad

I have contacted Apple many times from last year to this year. I got an an express replacement (one of the minis in above picture)  under Apple Care, took 2 stupid months, thousands of calls wasted countless hours explain the same thing again and again. to get Apple release the hold on my card after they receive the original phone, but that's another story.) (Oh and the stupid iPhone they gave me is locked but what I bought is unlocked, all Apple said is it's up to my carrier to unlock it, which, my carrier never lock any phone and they only sell unlocked phones. Spent 2 hours every damn day talking to Apple, carrier for 2 stupid  weeks and I had to live with it, that's another another damn story)

Just forget whatever happened, this is what I got every time when I tried to get my display fixed.

No work schedule as a trillion dollar company , need another year of work to fix it probably.

Again, it's just not the quality I expect from Apple. I wish Linus or any influencer would even just mention it. This issue already got 6k replies on MacRumors forums, they write nothing about it, but I'm still glad they let the post alive.  I member says that his 12 Pro Max is much better than my mini. I think there's a lot can be discussed in a video. If Linus decides to do a video and can't find a 12 mini that terrible, I can mail my mini to him) So weird that no one besides some customers talked about it.

I made a complaint on Apple support forums too https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252302131

To emphasize that it's not just minimum brightness.

I'm actually surprised phone screens can be this accurate. I've never had a single monitor that was even close to 6500K out of the box.

Yet, this is a perfect example for "Buy a product because it IS good, don't assume it's good because of the brand."

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

some displays do have excess amount red and blue, sometimes lack of green. for example, my trashy android. But it doesn't bother me that much as the excess of Green, which looks worse to me. may be it's red blue cancel each other out or whatever, there's probably some science behind it.

I also immediately noticed something off with the white balance of my 12 mini when I first powered it on. I tried to use it for a week, but it bothered me that a phone which costs that much had a permanent yellow hue. Ended up returning it.

Will spend my money on Doge coin and keep using my 7 instead.

Did you try disabling truetone? Mine was also damn awful with truetone enabled (way way too warm for my taste). Disabled that and it's fine.

All measurements done without true tone night shift. Auto brightness in accessibility setting turned off.
