Agreed, likely blowing dust or something off the contacts, although in my experience if a board is dirty enough for dust to stop the contacts from making electrical contact, there are many other problems with the board...

Sometimes, adding a little 90-100% isopropyl alcohol inside works wonders too, but most of the time, if the switch is malfunctioning, it means that its time has come.

 

All switches have not only physical lifespan, but also electrical lifespan, and if it's the latter, there's no fix to that other than to replace the switch altogether.
