Guys is samsung the frame true 120hz because it feels like it's ai because I just saw traces

Very common for new TV's to claim 100Hz+ refresh rate, but if you read into it unless it states 'Native Refresh Rate' they use software. Samsung refers to their version of  this as "Motion Enhancement Technology" so if you read your TV's spec the Hz is likely listed as MR120.

They said something with MR120 at the store and that it used true unlike the philips on the other side

Well regardless of what was said in store and what it actually is are two different things, Samsung themselves does not use any verbiage that indicates it is "true" native refresh rate, it is clearly marketed as Motion Enhancement Technology. LG does the same thing and also offer 4k TV's with Native 120Hz, but there is a distinct difference in even how it is marketed and the language used to describe it.

TVs often lie about their actual refresh rate. Often inserting blank frames, or using software to make it seem like a high refresh rate. It's probably a 60Hz screen that they lied about. But with some Smart TVs, you may have to put it into "gaming" mode or something like that to get the proper specs.

Would be dumb if I paid over $1000 for a 4K and "120hz" TV with HDMI 2.1 just to LEARN IT'S FUCKING 60HZ

They do genuinely use software to 'boost' refresh rate, Samsung calls is "Motion Enhancement Technology" but it is not the same as Native 120Hz.

Painful, but yes, unfortunately all to common with big 4K TVs. I paid an extra $400+ for one with native 120Hz (plus a few other features).

That sucks and I got this on sale sucks if samsungs newest 2020 frame would not be native

It is to bad you had to learn this way, this TV in particular is more focused on a crisp image and the QLED technology. Not a bad TV by any means, but understandably frustrating if you thought it had native 120-200Hz.

I had to give up QLED and OLED to get the other specs I prefered (like native refresh rate). So either way you look at it there is positives and negatives. To get the display tech like OLED and native 120Hz+ you have to spend at least double right now.

It's fine TBH I got a good TV and the problem just went poof when I turned on game mode, also I will test when I get my upgraded PC how 120hz actually feels compared to my monitor

Yeah depending on the mode it could change how the "Motion Enhancement Technology" is enabled / how it works.
