800$ PC

Go to solution Solved by richodude,

cpu - fine

mobo - fine if you want all the rgb and stuff but you you could get $40 cheaper if you wanted to save money

ram - fine you could probably get 3200mhz for the same price

storage - fine you might want more storage if you plan on big games. might want a 1 or 2 tb hdd

case - fine

psu - might want to spend the extra 20 bucks and get something that will last a bit longer

case fans - you probably wont need them, your case has a few and you dont have particularly hot components

gpu - 2060 super is always a solid choice but you might want to get like a 10700 or something. 10400 is good enough though

is this a good list for 800$ btw im going to buy a 5600xt for 280$ or a 2060 for 300$ when prices come back down to earth. ALSO i'm buying this system in september... tell me any changes.

OUTDATED JAN 2021 ===========> Check out my pc building guide! might be useful tho

It's great for planning new builds, getting a reference on where to start, or seeing what you need to play what games.

It also shows what I recommend for upgrading your stuff!

cpu - ryzen 5 3600

gpu - gtx 1070

ram - (2x8) 3200mhz

ssd - 970 evo plus 500gb

ssd2 - 860 qvo 1tb

mobo - asrock b450m hdv r4.0

psu - evga b5 550w bronze

Hoping that pricing and availability level out by September 2021. That said, I'd dump the S12III and aim for a Focus GM or Pure Power 11, which are significantly better units. $58 for a Seasonic S12III is kinda depressing, that's close to what I paid for my Seasonic Prime Ultra Gold almost 2 years ago.

what?

The mod moved your thread to a more appropriate subforum than the one you posted it in.

B460 chipset board can't run RAM at any speed higher than 2666, so you might be able to save some money by finding a 2666 kit instead of that 3000mhz one.

If you are buying this in September, there are a lot of unreleased products I would get for this build. First off, I would get a 3060 instead of a 5600XT or 2060. I would also get whatever lower end Zen 3 or Rocket Lake CPUs are released.

CPU - Ryzen 5 5600X | CPU Cooler - EVGA CLC 240mm AIO  Motherboard - ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 | RAM - 16GB (2x8GB) Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 3600MHz CL17 | GPU - MSI RTX 3070 Ventus 3X OC | PSU -  EVGA 600 BQ | Storage - PNY CS3030 1TB NVMe SSD | Case Cooler Master TD500 Mesh

3060 would likely be $300-$350, which could fit in an $800 budget. We'll have to see when it's released, which is rumored to be as early as this month.

Case and PSU are garbage, change that.

Also wait to consider a GPU. 2060 and 5600XT prices won’t go down, as they aren’t being made anymore.

In September, there will most likely be a $250 3050ti you could get. It will probably have 2070 super performance.

The case is fine for a mid-range build like this, not every case needs to be a NASA wind tunnel folks.
