I'm finding some decent deals on a 3060 Ti & occasionally 3070. Just wondering if my current specs are "up to snuff" enough to be good to go for the GPU upgrade. Which GPU would recommend otherwise if not them. Price budget is $650 (stimulus :))

1. Your current rig looks more than capable for either a 3070 or the 3060 Ti.

2. I’d go for the 3070 over the 3060 Ti. Although quite close in performance, the 3070 is slightly better.

Your current specs are more than ready for a 3070 or 3060 ti although i recommend getting the 3070 over the 3060 ti.The 3070 is not THAT much better than the 3060 ti but if you can find it at a reasonable price then why not,15% of extra performance doesn't hurt anyone :).If not then just get the 3060 ti.

I'd even say 3060ti is better value (depending on price of course) and that it really doesn't matter much since both will be outdated as soon the real cards (aka 10, 12, 16... GB) hit (which is probably sooner than later...)

Happy new 3070 owner here btw 👋

Doesn't change the high probability of what I just said to turn out correctly, I was just tired of waiting lol (and it is indeed a great update over the 1070 I had, albeit with very low Vram amount sadly as a downside)

I do agree that the 3060 ti is better value. Also i currently own a 2080 Super, not a bad card compared to the 3070 or 3060 ti and im looking to upgrade whenever the 4000 series come out.Tbh don't know when that will be but WHO KNOWS!.Currently my GPU handles everything really well and don't have any major problems with it, so i'm happy!

Also happy new year! to everyone that's reading this!

I also agree with that, a 2080/super is still perfectly fine and doesn't need to be upgraded right now in most situations.

However it's a bit different for 1000 cards, maybe not 1080ti (that one should still be fine also)

And happy new year, everyone! 🍸

Ah, yes well I just keeping an eye out on hardware swap for 3060 Ti or 3070. I can get $220 out of my 1070 Ti right now plus $350 I have now so only thing is luck. Seeing it first and first PM the seller will see. Do you know if the 3060 Ti overclocked meet the 3070 out of box performance? Maybe just go for 3070 cause ray tracing?

Waiting I don't really care about as I could always sell it again if it is that far of an upgrade to make.

I have no idea, maybe it's close but then again you don't really get a lot out of overclocking nowadays... 5-15 fps, maybe...

Sure it might be worth it for raytracing but generally the 3060ti is close enough and due to price difference the better value card, still if you want more performance 3070 / 80 it is...

I can get a 3060 Ti eagle or ftw3 for $600 right now cheapest I could find still available. I just don't know. Thanks for the information. I really appreciate it.

Yes the can overclock the 3060 Ti to get closer to 3070 performance but don’t forget you can also overclock the 3070 as well.

Yes however cheapest I could find constantly while still available is $700 for 3070 and about $600 for 3060 Ti.

Could 3060 Ti be an issue with high settings, ray tracing & DLSS gaming at 1440P 144hz?
