My Athlon x4 860k uses just 1 core and 1 thread.

Please help I have an athlon x4 860k and a ASUS a68-HM Plus mobo. When I go into task manager it shows me just 1 core and a sigle logical processor.

Right click on the graph, select change graph to, and select logical processors.

This wouldn't make a difference. As you can see, Task Manager is already reporting only one logical core:

I agree with @Kupal. Check your BIOS settings to ensure that all physical cores are enabled. According to your motherboard's manual, there is a CPU Configuration section under the Advanced menu that may house the appropriate settings, if they exist at all. Another thing to check would be MSConfig and ensure that all CPU cores are enabled:

Thanks I didn't knew there is a motherboard manual. But with the "msconfig" thing didn't worked for me. I even tried to update my bios. A weird thing is that I set the bios to it's original settings and still was using 1 core and 1 thread

Check your motherboard for Turbo Key Switch.. Old AMD Motherboard have that switch button inside the motherboard.
