Hi.

I was wondering if any one has a Corsair tx650m , I'm experiencing very loud fan noise and that's at idle....I decided to RMA it to Corsair and they accepted.

I don't know if this is normal or not...so I was wondering if anyone has this psu and knows if it's normal for it to be this loud....

My system has a ryzen 5 3600 and a 1650 super ....so this psu is very overspecd for this rig ( I did it for future proof).

not normal for being loud. it is somewhat quiet. probably got unit with bad fan bearings or something.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

The TX-m is a Tier A PSU. So it should be relatively quiet, especially at idle. It's not blue or gold color-coded, so it might get a bit noisy under moderate load. You probably just had a defective fan, which is a pretty normal thing.

Bearing issue is probable, I experienced a weird noise back in summer when I was gaming on this rig , after like 2 hours of gaming it would make this weird fan noise slightly clicky ( I put a sound attachement that I recorded of this noise)

That's why Corsair accepted my RMA request I think , I just told them it's making this noise.

I think it's a faulty fan for sure.

Ye I paid decent money for this psu I expected it to be very quiet. It has this weird high turbulence noise to it... I took it out of my case and ran it while it's outside...still the same noise.

So I RMA'd now waiting for Corsair.

Thanks for the help!

Edit: I checked the list you sent and ye...tier A shouldn't struggle when it's powering around 300w~ when it's a 650w psu...

How in the world would that be related at all? If you want a quiet PSU, get a quiet PSU. The Seasonic Prime Gold is a very good PSU, but is also one of the loudest PSUs you can get. The TXM is not a particularly quiet PSU either. You can check noise levels on e.g. Cybenetics

Idk I'm not good with psus...I just heard a lot of people praise Corsair and say they are very good at making Psus...I guess I miss worded that, I had high expectations from Corsair is what I wanted to say

Corsair, just like any other company has a range of products, just like any other company. They have super quiet PSUs, and they have PSUs that are not.

E.g. Asus has quiet GPUs, and they have loud GPUs. That's why reviews exist.

:)
