not getting full network speed

Okay. if you connect your laptop  or any other device to the router in the basement what speeds do you get?

I dont think that works as a usual ethernet connection but i will try. I cant till later today tho because Im not home. I will let you know

on the asus router in the basement doesn't it have 4 ethernet ports?
