what case should I use

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, COD, CSGO, DOCS,MS TEAMS, A lot of webpages

 

I am building a pc and I have done hours of research into my parts and I am content with everything but my case and I need recommendations

My requirements are that it needs to have great airflow, be compatible with all my parts, and last but not least it needs to have a tempered glass side panel and I need to see all my RGB fans

iv only heard good things about p11 dynamic but I am reluctant because there must be a reason this is one of the only cases with this fan layout and other components don't do the same thing

360mm AIO will not fit in the Meshify C unfortunately. Meshify 2 or S2 are great though.

Focus on cases that allow for good airflow.

Corsair 4000D Ariflow or 220T Airlfow

Lian Li Lancool II Mesh

Cooler Master TD500 Mesh

Went with a 4000d Airflow myself when I was shopping around for cases. The white version looks really good in person and can support your rad.

there is, corsair made like a mini 011 bassically, It's just not common as most people don't want to populate 9 fan slots. It's another "designer case" the airflow is perfectly fine.

Unless you pop off the front panel it will suffer in terms of airflow and thermal performance, personally I'd rather have the P500A. But up to you!

Not the best for airflow, but you do not have a demanding use, so think about nzxt H510 elite, I used it in a build and it has 2 glass side, also 2 140mm rgb fans

R9 5950x and RTX 3080 will throw off a lot of heat, I definitely would not go for any NZXT case, nor will the 360mm AIO fit in the H510.

I m not here to judge your choices, but maybe 360mm is kinda overkill. Your cpu is not that hot, still a 105 tdp.

Now airflow is a real thing but... pc is not a car, that flow is enough for your light use, also for more demanding use.

I built on that case, and the rgb controller that comes pre connected with the fans and the big LED strip will make your life easier.

Not my part selection. But a 360mm AIO is a fair choice for that CPU. 

 

TDP does not determine the exact heat output, more like a "rating". Even looking back at Zen2 I had 2x 105W TDP CPU's an R7 3800x and R9 3900XT, the R9 easily runs 10-15 degrees hotter under load. This is with a good airflow case (Meshify C), If I had a closed off front panel (like the H510) I would run another 10 degrees hotter.

 

There are tons of cases with "pre connected controllers", that doesn't make the H510 a good case. But yeah sure RGB is great, really helps with thermal performance.

I don't like his case ratings but everyone has his tastes. I m well aware of that review. 360mm is an enthusiast's thing and I m sorry that you can't convince me otherwise

Now about CPU heat output, if you don't render for many hours, you don't have to worry about temperature, and as they are under 95°C you are good to go. Gaming will use 4 cores so it will run lower than 70°C anyway.

The thing that you have to worry, if you worry about tempertemperature is the hope easy you can clean the filters, and for radiators, after a year you will need to remove then, clean them well and put them back. Also RAM and motherboard vrm will run hotter on water-cooled systems.

I m not trying to make angry, I'm just taking by experience of my systems, good luck with your choice

Steve does not rate cases based on what he likes, he uses proven testing methodology and hard data. Not liking that means you are disregarding the facts. I mean sure buy a case you like, but recommending a case because you like it does not make it better, or good.

 

Well the 5950x is a 16 core CPU, 4 years ago an "enthusiast" level CPU could be classified as a 6C/12T, so not sure what you are talking about or the relevance.

Trade off for better CPU temps. And depending on fan orientation this can be minimized.

The dust is trapped between radiator and fans unlike the air-cooler, as you can see on Colton's pc upgrade video, but that's something to worry after a year or more.

Well about cpu usage I saw it in my personal rig. I really only use max 2 cores while Gaming. 

I still can't agree to the suggestion of the "airflow" case. You can remove a panel of you care that much about it.

About motherboard, the strix is a nice one that runs cool on tests and that's true, I haven't see a Mobo dies by that anyway and never seen a cpu throttle below 85°C. 

I think I m not within the initial question now.

Case is a personal preference anyway and if you need that radiator, I can't suggest anything really. Good talk
