Help & advice : choosing my new monitor

KyotoLolo

Hi,

I'm going to need to change my very ageing and not so good monitor.

Here's my wish list and a few details.

Anyone's help, advice and opinion is more than welcome!

But, first thing first, just to add one more layer of difficulty : I live in Japan.

Some brands (looking at you Samsung) or models may not be available here.

On the opposite side, we have brands (iiyama, io-data...) that may not be available in your countries.

Use

  • photo and video editing -- nothing pro, but I'd like very good color accuracy, good contrast etc.
  • music making
  • video playback (DVD, Blu-Ray, web streaming)
  • light gaming, mostly retro gaming with Recalbox or stand-alone emulators
  • TV from time to time -- I'll use my Blu-ray/HDD recorder as tuner

So, wish list :

  • 1920x1080 resolution. (my eyesight is getting bad, 4K would surely be too small.)
  • no smaller than 24 inches, no bigger than 32 inches
  • as high as possible coverage of sRGB, Rec. 709 and/or DCI-P3
  • preferably true 10-bit, though I could probably survive with 8-bit+FRC
  • minimum of 2 HDMI ports or 1 HDMI + 1 DP. The more the better to be honest
  • Matte screen please. I already have mirrors in the bathroom ;)
  • Height and angle can be adjusted

Would be nice to have but can live without :

  • speakers or decent quality
  • USB-C port that supports video/audio input
  • possibility to change the orientation from landscape to portrait
  • eye-care technology / blue light reduction

Any suggestion?

Thanks!
