Sound lags/ stutter on new pc

xbios

I just upgraded my pc to AM4 with a Ryzen 9 5900X. For some days now I got some pretty bad soundbugs/ stuttering.

For example when I tab out of a game and receive a discord message, it's stuttering. Or when I get some windows notification sounds they are lagging.

Gamesound is mostly fine as far as I remember now.

The strange thing is: On my old pc I also had this issue in last weeks of that one, but it was a Fx8350 with just too many stuff going on that I thought, ok the cpu is just overloaded in that moment (and that was true).

But now, the 5900X can't be at max load just because I tab out of a game.

So it has to be something else.

Do you have any ideas?

I have no major new software installed since I got this, all drivers are up to date, temps are fine on cpu and gpu.

The first 2-3 weeks this wasn't even there and I just got this weird sounds.

To clarify the "sound" see this meme, it perfectly fits and it sounds quiet similar to what I experience.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ac4Bga-WtHQ

Setup:

Ryzen 9 5900X

Strix B550F

32 GB G Skill 3200

GTX 1060 6GB

750 be quiet pure power 11

Nzxt Kraken X73

  • 3 weeks later...

I had this exact problem, there were also issues with only one monitor working at a time, but the buzzing was the exact same everytime there was a notification or sudden spike in cpu/gpu the sound and frame would hiccup with a buzz. Ryzen 5000 + B550-F

I managed to solve this by changing the RAM Voltage from 1.35v to 1.375v.
