EVGA Hadron Air Build

RyAn_Z
Hello fellow members of the linustechtips forum,

Over the last few months my old computer was becoming a bit lacking in the frame rate department (560ti) so i decided to do a complete upgrade and downsize at the same time. This is my first time posting anything apart from issues so bare with me.

Specs:

Intel Xeon 1230v3

ASUS Z87i-Pro

Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 2133 2x8gb

Galaxy Geforce GTX 780 TI

Evga Hadron Air

Sandisk 120gb SSD

WD Green 2tb

2 Noctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm

Noctua NH-U9B SE2

Finished Build:

Taken with a iPhone 4, don't tease me it is all i have.

@Ryan_Z, that's a pretty solid build. What made you choose the Intel Xeon 1230 v3 over something like the i7 4770? Just price or were there other factors that swayed you to go Xeon?

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

It was cheaper and didn't have integrated graphics, i don't see the point in paying for something i won't use. The Xeon was 280 vs 360 for the i7, the money I saved went towards upgrading other components

You might want to edit the title from : Hard-on to Hadron

fixed the gallery, how do i change the title?easy mistake to make but funny though.

Cool build. How'd you find doing cable management?

I removed the USB3/ HD audio cables and that cleaned it up heaps. Other than that as long as you route the cables behind the video card and not next to, pretty easy, just time consuming.

The "r" needs to go after the "d" to spell "Hadron" instead of "Hardon". Just thought that I would point that out. :D

Fair enough. I had been contemplating going with the Intel Xeon myself but I like options and these options are whether to choose the Intel HD graphics 4600 and the NVIDIA GTX 770, that I have selected for my build this year, when doing certain tasks.

You should see a little faint "EDIT" option on any of your posts including your original first post. If you select this option on your first post of this thread it will take you to the edit page where you have the option to not only edit your original post but also your thread title. If you need more help with this, just ask me. :D

Good, well done mate! Tis good that I can write easy to understand instructions, sorry I missed that part out, almost right though. :D

I only suggested that you change it because of what could've been implied and what others could've thought by it not being changed. But for me, I didn't even think of anything, clean mind here. :D

That cable  management is awesome.

Also, your pics are great, esp. since they are from an iPhone 4.

@RyAn_Z I previously thought that only EVGA mobos were compatible. How does that Asus one fit in?

any mini itx botherboard is compatible with this case, if you want to use the built in CPU backplate than you need a evga motherboard, but other than that it fits perfectly fine

Are there regular mounts for it? I thought that backplate was the only way of mounting.

there are standard motherboard mounts on the motherboard tray and normal mitx spacings, and enough clearance between the motherboard and tray for any reasonably thick cooler backplate
