Windows 10 new pc updates

Hey,

I have just built a new pc and am updating windows atm.

Why doesnt windows download all the updates at once and install them at the same time!!!! Thats just silly.

My question is this: Is there a way to automate this process? Downlaod all the updates and install them after a single click.

Thanks!

Nope. It updates it, and installs a single update.

I have to restart between each update as well.

You shouldn't have to restart after every updates, it should just restar ta few times at the end.

BUt you may have to reboot more if you installed a older feature update, then did the monthy update afterwards.

If you use the latest Windows 10 Media Creation Tool then it will come with the latest major release of windows at the least which only has a couple updates beyond that afaik right now. If you're using an ancient CD or something from years ago then it's going to have to install all the pre-req updates before it can install larger updates.

Some updates are patches instead of full packages. Which means they need certain version to be installed on. Patches are used to make file sizes smaller.

So I found the problem.

I was using my usb with the windows install from about 3 years ago. I created a new usb media install of windows, and it fixed all the problems I had.

Thanks for the help.
