You can download tracks within the Spotify client if you have Spotify Premium so that you can listen to the tracks without internet.

Download the Spotify app from the Windows Store. Then flip the download switch on the playlist you want to download.

OP is asking about downloading Spotify music to an actual file

Like @kirashi, you can only download music within the client with a premium account, and the music file it stores on your C drive is encrypted with DRM, so there's no way you can access it

you could theoretically screen record the clip, with audie, then delete the video. So you have an audio file to mess with

You require spotify premium to download spotify music. But you can only play the music through the spotify app but you can then play the music offline.

To change the save location go to preferences then open advanced at the bottom then it has a option there to change location.

My cursory searching brings up Spotiload (formerly spotify VK downloader) as an open source tool to do this. Jdownloader 2 had requests for a spotify update some time ago so that may work too. Other than that I'm not too sure. My searching also showed that spotify removed the exploit most devs were using to create modded APKs so if you can find one that hasn't been taken down that may be another option.

Otherwise you can always use Vanced or Ymusic to get them off YouTube instead.
