Looking for the best audiophile wired headset(max 350$)

ByronT

Hey all,

I am currently using the Sennheiser/EPOS GSP 670. Amazing sound quality, honestly amazing but shitty wireless implementation so I want to get rid of them. Do you have any wired headset to suggest for audiophile level?

Thanks in advance!!!

That depends heavily on the genres of music you're frequently listening to

Competitive FPS gaming(footsteps are a priority) so lower bass and classical music.

Thnx for the quick reply.

What about these "BEYERDYNAMIC TEAM TYGR" with the Schiit Valhalla?

Or should I prefer a headset with higher ohms?

Not quite sure how good AKG's are nowadays. I found that the quality dropped significantly on the models produced after Samsung bought them.

For clean sound and this price range I'd recommend classics like Beyerdynamic DT770 or Audio-Technica M50X. They are I think half the budget, I think that the next big quality increase would start way above it, so I'd save some money and get something at 150-ish USD range.

Would be good yes. Although do you plan on getting the valhalla or do you already have it? For gaming and music as well. I'd recommend the Sound Blaster G6 instead as the DAC/amp.

371's are arguably better than the DT 770s. They have some fairly decent sets

High ohm downstairs mean better headphone. Are you referencing the TYGR 300r's?

If you care about software and easier to access EQ and other settings to personalize your sound signature. Yeah this is obviously achievable through other software but it is still better than those solutions. Also the valhalla is overkill and isn't that great for the Tygr's I would say.

Don't get me wrong. The valhalla is a great amp. Just not great amping onboard audio.

Which headset should I pick to combine with  Valhalla? What's your opinion?

The valhalla would only be a minor difference because of the tubes. But I'd say the HD58X from drop.com. Keep in mind. Amping onboard audio can cause already existing interference to get even more fucked. So you'd need a DAC if that is the case.

I don't really recommend Schiit's products. I've seen it not being a popular recommendation lately. But what I'd recommend is the Sound Blaster G6 as I recommended before. That DAC/amp combo with the HD58X's for a more open sound or some beyerdynamic headphone with I would say better imaging for FPS games and just more durable. The DT 990 pros for example. Another DAC/amp combo I would recommend is the ifi Zen DAC. There you've got a balanced output for the HD58X if you get another cable.

When you say headset do you mean it should include a mic?

If not when you say "audiophile" to me that means dac and amp which bring's you down to about $150 on headphones, but trust me that will beat the pant's off any all in one solution for $350.

If you want a mic I would say tygr mod mic and dac amp

If you don't need a mic then I would say dac amp and 58x or to stay in budget a magni/modi or heresy/modi stack from www.schiit.com

You sure about that? Yeah I don't think my AE-9 can't outperform many amp/DAC combos in the same price range. Of course not. Go and check the specs and look at the tests of it. Stop being ignorant and don't assume something. You keep linking videos of Zeos. He made a review about the Sound Blaster X7. He liked it other than that the app was a bit crappy and that the drivers were fcked. Creative has fixed their drivers and their problems.
